Hey people, notice how this blog is about
making money with Adsense but there are no adsense ads on it yet? Yeap, that is right, there are no adsense ads on this blog - YET.
Herein lies the first lesson: do not put adsense ads in your blogs!
"WTF? How am I supposed to make money with adsense using blogger blogs if I don't slap on some adsense ads"
Relax, I'm not asking you not to put it up forever, I'm asking you to exercise a little control and restraint in placing the ads up. I know this is hard to do but you must do it. The reason is simple, if you put on ads before you get any traffic, Adsense will view your blog negatively and think that it is a spam blog - remember in Adsense' TOS, you cannot create a site purely for the purpose of showing ads!
Moreover some blogs' topics like the make money online niche, financial, insurance, credit cards niches are more prone to being flagged as spam right from the start! So adding adsense ads to your blog is a no-no right from the start.
"So when do I place those ads?"
A very valid question. As a rule of thumb, I usually wait till I'm getting around 20 + visitors a day from Google and when 90% + of my traffic is from organic search traffic before I put some ads in. There is little point in showing ads to no one or very few people anyway.
So I hope we got that clear - that you should wait and wait before you put on your first adsense ads. I'll update traffic stats and how I'm going to try and rank for the google in this blog - don't worry, it'll be all step by step stuff.
But first though, you'll have to learn how to create your first blogger blog. There are several things you must do.
1st, choose the minima template:

We choose the minima because it is the cleanest template, easiest on the eye of the reader and also because it comes SEO-optimized right from the box.
Next click on settings and put in your description. Keep your description short and use the keywords that you want to target for your niche. Look at the blog header and description of this blog for an example of what I mean.
Click on formatting and selecting show 1 post:

The reason is simple, we do not want to have lots of different snippets or entirely different posts shown on the front page because this would result in adsense sending ads that are not optimized. By having just 1 post on the main front page, google will delivered the most optimized post for that one single post, instead of spliting it's ads among 7 different posts.
Further down under 'formatting' select 'YES' for show link fields.
Click on comments and select 'pop up window' for comment form placement. Click 'show' for backlinks. Click on layout next and remove the 'about me' page. (This is optional) and you're pretty much ready to go. If you wanna remove the ugly nav bar on top check out:
remove the navigation bar from blogger
So that's the very basic of setting up your blogger blog, do try to customize your blog a little by changing the blog's font, title color etc, all this can be easily done inside your layout panel, it's pretty self-explanatory. Don't go on adding all the bells and whistles under 'add a gadget' just yet, we won't be using any of those.
Of course, I realise before you start blogging and making money from adsense, you need to think of a niche or a few niches first. Don't worry I'll have that covered in the next few posts. If you noticed, this post seems to be rather long. Well it is and it is deliberately done so for a few reasons. One to provide lots of juicy unique content for google to crawl (note I didn't say unique) and also for you to read and possible click on the ads. Remember we are creating blogs, while not spammy but with the motive in getting the higest CTR possible while providing what the searcher is looking for.
Hope this post on making money with adsense help you get a feel and look of how you can start earning through blogger blogs. talk soon!
